Vote@18:
Moms Sign up the Senior Class

With debates on YouTube, and internet organizing coming into its own, the 2008 Presidential race is shaping up to be a campaign full of firsts, and young people are noticing.

Help capture that excitement and register newly eligible high school seniors to vote.

Vote@18: Moms Sign Up the Senior Class is a nonpartisan national grassroots project whereby mothers (and others) visit classrooms of high school seniors for on-the-spot voter registration.

The Vote@18 toolkit has everything you need to start making classroom presentations about voter registration in your school community:

  • a sample letter to school decision-makers to arrange classroom visits.
  • a database with school superintendents' names and contact information.
  • a sample script to guide your classroom presentations.
  • state-by-state voting information, including the date of your state's primary election.

HALF of the states have presidential primaries in January or February of 2008. Students registered to vote this autumn will be able to vote in those primaries. CHECK the voter registration deadlines in your state!

Help bring a new generation into the electoral process. Get yourself a pile of voter registration forms and help sign up the senior class!
